While it is true that most of the globe is still suffering from the GFC, here in Australia, and certainly in Queensland, investing in property is still a wise and safe way to create wealth. With the mining industry going from strength to strength, folks from the south, and overseas, still moving to Queensland in record numbers, residential homes are in great demand. In some parts of Queensland such as the mining towns of Dysart and Moranbah, it is not unusual for homes to attract rents of up to $2500 per week. In the coastal towns of Mackay, Yeppoon, and Airlie Beach, rents do not reach those heights, but they are still high, and long term quality tenants are readily available. All in all, investing in residential real estate is certainly to be considered as part of your wealth creation strategy.
